Baxi Range 3 way valve diverter cartridge replacement tool
Prevents hydraulic lock!
When changing a Baxi /Main/Potterton combi 3 way diverter valve, hydraulic lock occurs preventing the new valve being screwed all the way in easily. The o rings risk being displaced or damaged!
Baxi therefore recommend loosening the bottom flow nut, to allow trapped water to leak away, causing mess.
By simply pushing this plug into the new valve and fitting the motor clip it opens the valve, removing pressure, eradicating the need to loosen the flow nut underneath, making valve replacement a much faster and easier job
Isolate the boiler and drain it down. Insert the tool/plug into the new diverter valve and clip into position, hand tighten down. Remove the clip and plug then tighten up fully, refit the motor/actuator head , clip and re- pressurise to 1.25 bar
