22mm Johnson Magnetic Filter - The Pipefilter Pro-Series 120 Black (280mm long)
The Pipefilter Pro-Series 120 Black - 22mm
The powerful 120mm long magnetic elements have been designed to catch and remove lots of steel sludge on the first pass, this dirt has been created by the radiators rusting away internally due to electrolytic corrosion.
We are so confident of our filters we supply all of our heating filters with a no quibble money back 7yr guarantee, they represent unbeatable value for money and are the smartest, most reliable magnetic heating system filters on the market, no plastic is used in our premium quality filters!
They are all handmade in Great Britain for engineers seeking a slimline design, combined with trusted copper and brass for maximum reliability to provide you with the best value for money for decades, not just a few years!
The magnet housings are precision made from premium quality copper and brass, the magnetic elements are powered by many rare earth neodymium iron boron magnets (NeFeB) encased within a stainless steel laser welded and ground sealed pipe of 120mm long, as used typically in the food processing industry. Our suppliers have over 50 years magnetic material sourcing and build experience, they are a blue chip company who supply the motor trade, food industry and medical world.
If you are installing the filter on a clipped pipe run a 6mm offset, packer or a pair of street and normal elbows etc for easier yearly servicing.
The total length of this filter is 275mm and approx 230mm of pipe must be removed for a super quick and very simple in-line installation.
You will need to remove approx 230mm of 22mm pipe for the 120 model and 330mm for the 220 model. The total length of each filter is 275mm and 375mm respectively. If the heating pipes come from the ceiling down to the boiler, you may need to fit the filter horizontally under the boiler, choose a 120 model and use elbows to position it forwards, in front of the other pipework for easy servicing, approx 200mm below the valves.
The ends of each of the magnetic elements are not magnetic, this is to allow water to flow in and out of the units, the magnetic flux field width has been carefully engineered and calculated to prevent blockages occuring and has been fully tested. A fully loaded magnetic element is approx 32mm in diameter and the internal bore is 39.6mm, providing a cross sectional free flow area of 525mm sq, the valves on a standard central heating boiler are only around 16mm bore diameter or 200mm sq csa, 22mm pipe has a cross sectional area of 320 mm sq. The c.s.a. of our smallest magnetic element washer is 410mm sq therefore, our filters do not restrict the flow in any way, as some often think, please take a look at the magnet in the video.
Our filters are very reliable, truely in-line, and provide high flow rates, they are safer than plastic filters in relation to higher temperatures and pressures and are totally handcrafted, they have been designed to last for decades not years, and are fully protected at the Intellectual Patent Office.
They can be fitted in a vertical or horizontal plane and are really easy to fit and clean, the brass joints will always be easy to loosen. To clean the filters, simply close the valves, remove the drain valve and loosen off the top valve nut first if fitted vertically, if fitted horizontally the unit can be loosened and rotated slightly to aid draining down, loosen the nut nearest the drain valve first. Clean the filter out annually, when the heating water is cool, ideally when the boiler is being serviced.
Rotate the 42mm copper magnet housing slowly and the element will slide out into your hand, then place a plastic bag over the vertically held element and grasp around the rod at the top and draw the bag and dirt down the element and into the bag. Rinse the housing/sleeve, rubber washers and magnet assembly, then re-assemble. Air can be bled from the filter by loosening a nut momentarily.
The solid brass housing nuts are made in the UK to guarantee quality. They are cleaned and soldered using special jigs, to premium quality 42mm BSI copper of table X pipe specification by hand, to form a simple and very reliable magnet housing.
For extra peace of mind they are suppled with a 7 year guarantee and registration card, they represent unbeatable value for money.
Pump type grips are ideal for super easy fitting and cleaning.
All filter units carry a "No quibble 30 day money back guarantee" to ensure you are fully satisfied with your purchase, we know that you will be more than happy!

I would add to the filter a net to avoid any of the sludge to pass through and to block the heat exchanger.

My fitter very keen we go for the Johnson filter (the 120) as perfect for a the job which was space restricted - needed to go behind kitchen draws. We needed the filter to arrive the day after ordering and simple phone call ensured this possible, I couldn't be more satisfied
